Omiga Cape
Of Counsel
Ms. Cape serves in an Of Counsel capacity to the Federal Practice Group, where she supports the firm’s government contracts practice. She brings extensive experience litigating complex matters before federal courts.
Ms. Capes’ litigation experience includes bench trials before courts within the Department of Justice and criminal prosecution in the State of Texas, where she gained vast experience with direct-examination, cross-examination, and jury trials.
Her prior professional experience informs her ability to advance her clients’ positions by defining legal issues accurately, providing sound legal counsel in complex legal matters, and advocating successfully before courts and administrative agencies. Ms. Cape is also experienced in negotiating and appellate writing.
Omiga was also recognized as being a part of the first conviction integrity unit with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, where she used the same passion she has for client advocacy, in reviewing more than 130 final criminal convictions for legal sufficiency, including adherence to constitutional and due process rights.
Omiga earned her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and her B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University. Omiga is admitted to practice law in Texas and Maryland.
