Summer Abel is an Associate with The Federal Practice Group. Her practice is focused on criminal and civil litigation, government contracting, vaccine compensation, and all aspects of veteran’s rights. Ms. Abel is often described as a tenacious litigator at both the trial and appellate level. Prior to joining The Federal Practice Group, she served as Assistant Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orlando, Florida, where she represented over 800 individuals facing criminal charges, ranging from misdemeanors to 1st degree felonies. She then transitioned to civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury, class action, and vaccine litigation before the Court of Federal Claims. While in law school, she served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Laurie A. White of the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a primary focus on drafting rulings on post-conviction relief.

Ms. Abel received her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of South Florida, and her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law.
