Mr. May is the Director of Marketing for the Federal Practice Group. In this role he manages strategic communications through a variety of channels and is ultimately responsible for ensuring full integration for the firm’s branding, marketing, media buying, online presence and positioning in the social media arena on behalf of the firm and all of its attorneys at the international, national and regional levels.
Mr. May brings over 20 years of experience in the field and has created relationships and partnerships with some of the top members of the print, media and television community.
Mr. May has developed the firm’s overall external relations plan and oversees its implementation by establishing the firm’s attorneys as thought leaders within their respective fields of practice. Such positioning results in substantial media opportunities for both the firm and when appropriate, its clients. Mr. May is also responsible for initiating strategic partnerships, speaking and blogging opportunities for the Firm’s employees.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. May worked at two (2) Washington, D.C. public relations firms as well as a local law firm. Mr. May has a tremendous track record of putting together the correct talent with appropriate news outlets to enable audiences to get the best intelligence on a breaking or important story. He has also served in senior communications positions for several professional athletic leagues, university athletic departments and individual celebrity or championship events.
Mr. May received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut. He resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland with his wife and three children. In his spare time, he assists with his children’s various athletic endeavors and provides public and media relations support for the one of the region’s finest non-profits, the Maryland Soccer Foundation. Mr. May also mentors young people coming into the field of public and media relations.
