RICHARD KEARNEY | The Federal Practice Group

Mr. Kearney is the Executive Assistant to Eric S. Montalvo, Founding Partner of The Federal Practice Group. Mr. Kearney manages the high volume of scheduling and meeting logistics. Mr. Kearney maintains a thorough understanding of the executive level protocols required for the administration of the firm and expertly manages all engagement requirements on behalf of Mr. Montalvo. Mr. Kearney also supports Mr. Montalvo in his role as managing partner supervising the complex litigation efforts undertaken by the various practice groups. In this capacity, Mr. Kearney provides legal research, writing, and litigation support to Mr. Montalvo and his team.

Prior to joining the Federal Practice Group, Mr. Kearney completed two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Kearney served as a paralegal supporting civil and family law matters at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was also the supervisory paralegal for the Staff Judge Advocate of Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton. Mr. Kearney served as the Clerk of Court for the Western Pacific Judicial Circuit and as the senior paralegal for the Western Pacific Victims’ Legal Counsel Office. Mr. Kearney then transitioned to the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, 3d Marine Logistics Group, where he was the supervisory paralegal. Mr. Kearney finished his second enlistment as the senior paralegal supporting all Marine Corps and Navy prosecutions within the National Capital Region.

Mr. Kearney is an avid scuba diver. He holds certifications as a PADI Divemaster and Master Scuba Diver. Mr. Kearney was the recipient of the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his participation in the rescuing of a drowning victim.
