James Asbill is an Associate with the Federal Practice Group. His practice focuses on government contracting, corporate transactional matters, complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property. He also has experience in family and domestic law, criminal defense, probate, appellate practice, and personal injury litigation.
Prior to joining the Federal Practice Group, Mr. Asbill represented clients in civil and criminal matters for a national law firm specializing in intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. Before entering private practice, Mr. Asbill served as an Assistant District Attorney for Tulsa County, Oklahoma, managing a high-volume caseload of felony prosecutions. During that tenure, Mr. Asbill was appointed a special prosecutor for animal abuse and cruelty cases, and established an effective system for successful oversight and resolution of such offenses. Mr. Asbill is also an experienced trial attorney, having experience as both a second and first chair trial counsel.
A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Asbill works in the Federal Practice Group’s Tulsa office. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2017. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Oklahoma Christian University in April of 2014.
Mr. Asbill is admitted to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma.
