C.B. was hired by DXP Enterprises but then fired a few days later when her employer discovered she had suffered from a prior back injury. After she was fired, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit against the company. Rather than going to court, DXP chose to settle for $120,000 and other relief to be given to C.B. Besides the monetary benefits provided to the woman, more discrimination in the workplace has been prohibited by instituting policies and procedures regarding this issue. The company was willing to commit to training for their employees regarding discrimination as well as resolve the case regarding C.B. as quickly as possible.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing federal laws regarding workplace discrimination. Not only that, but they will investigate complaints and reports of discrimination and retaliation. They have the authority to file lawsuits on the behalf of workers who were treated unfairly due to race, religion, sex, age, or disability. Discrimination should never be tolerated and the EEOC makes it their goal to enforce these laws as well as prevent it from happening.

If you or a loved one were treated unfairly at work because of age, disability, or any other factor, you should contact a federal employment lawyer for assistance. They could review your situation in order to ascertain whether or not you have a case. They can also help defend you at the EEOC hearing so that you have the best possible chance of receiving justice. If you would like to discuss your case with one of the professionals from the team, you should waste no time in getting the help you need. Contact a federal employment law attorney today for a consultation regarding discrimination in the workplace.
