According to ABC News a U.S. Army Officer, Brig. Gen Jeffery Sinclair was accused for sex crimes against four fellow female officers as well as a civilian. At this time he is now pending his trial, in what reports claim is to be a rare criminal hearing, specifically an Article 32 hearing. Sinclair is from Fort Bragg at the 82nd Airborne Division.

Lt. Col. Jackie Thompson, Sinclair’s defense attorney, claims that those is trying to defend her client by claiming that those investigating the case complete violated his rights to privacy by going through personal emails that were between attorney and client as well as his wife about the case. With the defense attorney was able to get a confession out of the lead investigating officer who admits that she did violate the privacy and as a result, the prosecution is no longer able to use that information into heir case.

With the help of a strong criminal defense attorney, the prosecution is moving towards the conclusion that they may not have enough information to further their case against the Officer. In the event that the position continues to fight against Sinclair, the court ruled that they will be required to have a complete new group of people working on their case, and if not the case will be dismissed entirely.

When accused of a military crime, it is essential to have a strong defense attorney on your side. Not only is your future at stake, but also your position as a member of the service.
