    Washington, D.C. –August 24, 2018 — The Federal Practice Group is pleased to announce Ricardo J.A. Pitts-Wiley has been named a partner at the firm. Mr. Pitts-Wiley has over a decade of substantive experience in employment law and general litigation, and in his new role at The Federal Practice Group will continue to provide representation primarily for clients before the Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Merit System Protection Board (MSPB), Office of Special Counsel (OSC), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for various agencies, and local state and federal courts.

    Prior to joining The Federal Practice Group, Mr. Pitts-Wiley worked for three Washington, D.C. area law firms with a focus on employment law, where he successfully represented employees in a wide range of issues including adverse action, discrimination, employee benefits, and security clearance revocation.

    In addition to working for D.C.-area law firms, Mr. Pitts-Wiley spent two years serving as the General Counsel of Mixed Magic Theatre, a non-profit organization dedicated to “Building more literate and arts-active communities.” In this role he provided counsel on employment and labor issues as well as real estate and intellectual property matters.
    Mr. Pitts-Wiley received his Bachelor of Arts in both Public Policy Studies and African & African-American Studies from Duke University in 2001. He earned his Juris Doctor at American University Washington College of Law.
    Mr. Pitts-Wiley is admitted to practice in both Virginia and the District of Columbia.
