Military criminal investigative divisions (NCIS, CID, OSI, and CGIS) will oftentimes collect DNA from the subject being investigated. If the investigation does not result in either charges being brought or a conviction, then you have the right to have these removed from the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). Attempting this on your own may be difficult. Make sure you have an attorney familiar with this process assist you to ensure a timely and effective removal.
