The Federal Practice Group Wishes to Congratulate His Excellency Mohammed Fahim Hashimy on his

Appointment as Minister of Communications and Information Technologies

His Excellency Mohammed Fahim Hashimy is best known for organizing and establishing 1TV Media, the premium family entertainment TV channel in Afghanistan. In his new role he will be responsible for regulating and leading the telecommunications and technology sector for Afghanistan.

“Afghanistan could not have made a better selection to lead their Communication and Information Technologies agency than Mohammed Fahim Hashimy,” said Eric Montalvo, Founding Partner of the Federal Practice Group. “His vision and expertise will elevate Afghanistan’s technology efforts to the next level.”

Mr. Hashimy launched 1TV in 2010 and it has emerged as Afghanistan’s fastest growing impartial TV channel. Later he formed Group ONE media, which is considered one of the two largest media groups in Afghanistan. In 2012 Mr. Hashimy created East Horizon, a commercial airline and cargo services company.

Mr. Hashimy is from Kabul, Afghanistan and has been a lifelong patriot, first serving in the Afghan National Guard and later helping to transform the Afghan National Guard and Ministry of Defense. He has been recognized by the United States military for his efforts to Operation Enduring Freedom.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has ambitious goals moving forward, that Mr. Hashimy will now be tasked with implementing. Specifically, Mr. Hashimy will begin spearheading the installation of a support system for the National Information Center of Afghanistan and will direct the establishment of a Real Time Data Management System in Afghanistan.
